Thought of the Day— I love the characteristics of home with the different elements of love and nourishment, of unity and protection that make up the home. We have and/or had the home we grew up in with parents, siblings, aunts and uncles, etc. We have the home we build as adults with our own spouse and hopefully children. But yet, there is another home where my soul yearns to be even though I’ve never been; Heaven—my eternal home. It’s where my Father is, who knows me best and loves me most…
Thought of the Day—It’s the beginning of a new week; let the head banging begin!…just kidding…”This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!”
Thought of the Day—Are you resistant to change? I’m not talking about change for change sake but for an outcome, a purpose. Many folks are afraid of change for various reasons including the fear of the unknown. But if we refuse to grow and change, how can God possibly use us for His intended purpose? It’s as if we would rather just be content to lazily crawl around like little fuzzy caterpillars, eating everything in sight with our ravenous appetites instead of allowing the dramatic change necessary to become the beautiful butterflies of which we were destined. What is God asking you to change to initiate YOUR metamorphosis?
Thought of the Day—We can all learn from nature…for it has an inherent need to survive and thrive despite its’ desperate conditions. Humans on the other hand, have a tendency to have a total meltdown if their coffee order is messed up…We need to be content in all circumstances and trust that God knows our needs and what is best for us, even when we seem to be between a rock and a hard place…
Thought of the Day—Don’t get rid of your favorites books when you’re finished with them. One day your short and long term memories will go south and those books will seem like brand new again!
Thought of the Day—If God engineered the rose to take our breath away by its’ matchless beauty and intoxicating fragrance, what untold splendor awaits us in Heaven? What aromatic legacy will you leave behind for others?
Thought of the Day—Offering a kind word to another is like offering crisp, cold water from a mountain stream, quenching the dry, parched spirit with a refreshing offering. Today, regardless of your situation in life, please take the time to cup your hands, dip them deep into that stream and present a word of encouragement to someone in need…
Thought of the Day—Nothing in life is free, including freedom; there is always a price to be paid. Just a thought to ponder on as you “slave” over the gas or charcoal grill today…
Thought of the Day—We are all broken in one way or another. Sometimes God chooses to heal us physically, emotionally or spiritually. But sometimes He chooses to apply enough grace and strength in our lives to shine through despite our circumstances. We need to learn to stop squirming around on His examination table like spoiled children and trust His hands so we can accept the mercy that God freely anoints us…
