It’s not about me, it IS about you. So, are you ready for an adventure? Well, I would venture a guess you are already on one and don’t even know it. If you are still alive and breathing then you ARE on that adventure! Just peer in between the folds of life’s fabric, and you will find those special moments, treasures hidden amongst the magnificent and the mundane that make your life worthwhile. Those “special moments” is the reason this blog site was birthed. The title Life Simply Spoken came about from the yearning to share simple life stories presented in such a way that it would impact the life of another person. Most of these stories or “pieces” will have a spiritual slant as I strongly believe that in every life experience, there is a lesson, a nugget of God instilled, eternal truth just waiting to get out, becoming a salve for healing, a mini “aha” moment or perhaps a smile maker. So as you skim over my own life stories, think about yours. Jump headlong into YOUR life adventures with abandonment, keeping all your senses sharp, head clear, and make sure you pack a good amount of humor. For this is the only life we have been given; let us embrace every moment!

Thought of the Day–8/19/17

Dark roots

Thought of the Day—Trying to change or sanitize history by physically removing and/or defacing historical monuments or omitting and/or changing historical facts is like bleaching your dark hair blonde; eventually, those dark roots will start popping through again; so it is with history, the truth WILL prevail, even when it is hateful, hurtful or unpopular. The past is the past and you can’t change history, but you CAN help to change someone’s future. Human trafficking is a huge problem around the world; why not take that misspent energy used to remove old monuments and use that same effort to attempt to rescue others who are in their own present day bondage? Leave the old monuments where they stand as a reminder that that is not who we are now; we are or should be better than that. Make a positive difference in someone else’s life instead of smugly bragging about the chaos and destruction you have rained down on others all for the sake of your own selfish ideology… “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” George Santayana

Thought of the Day–8/10/17

Half eaten

Thought of the Day—Attempting to live life vicariously through others is like being offered scraps from someone else’s half eaten meal; hopefully you’ll eventually feel pretty disgusted and left wanting more. The God who breathed air in to your lungs and sparked life into your body has laid before you a smorgasbord of life experiences tailored just for you. All you have to do is have the courage, grit and determination to pick up that fork and begin enjoying all that makes you…you…for there is no substitute…
