Thought of the Day–11/19/17

Heart of flowers

Thought of the Day— May your heart always emit a sweet fragrance to God.  Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing. 2 Corinthians 2:15 (NLT)

Confession

Thought of the Day—Do you want to know a secret?  There are no secrets with God; He knows everything we’ve done and said anyway…it’s just a matter of being real with Him and confessing what He already knows.  Don’t you think our human relationships would go a little smoother if we were more open and honest with others?  I’m not talking about brute force honesty but speaking out truth in love…

Hand to hold

Thought of the Day—It may take a village to raise a child, but that doesn’t give anyone the permission to abandon their children in the village square.  We need to once again cherish and treat our children as they really are; a precious gift from God, an eternal soul entrusted to our care, the next generation in a pint sized form.  They are not someone else’s responsibility, your best friend in training or constant irritant…they are a reminder from God to us that we too, still need to find the wonderment in the everyday, what it means to once again enjoy the essence of innocence in trusting others, to possess a colored blind heart… Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

Garden of Thanksgiving

Thought of the Day—When you lose someone you cherish, you can certainly water the garden of thanksgiving with your tears of grief.  But even though you have to contend with the weeds of sorrow, the beautiful memories that blossom in that garden will undoubtedly sustain you for years to come…In memory of my beautiful sister, Jennifer   May 23, 1955 – October 25, 2017

Candle in the Dark

Thought of the Day—Sometimes, you may feel all alone and emotionally isolated from others, with your total self-worth hovering around zero on your positive self-image thermometer.  But don’t go there…don’t believe the lie.  For you are a hidden treasure, a candle in the dark—attracting others to the warmth of your being, God’s prized possession.  Never let anyone convince you otherwise…

Love Hurts

Thought of the Day—Love—sometimes it hurts…in fact, the more you love, the greater the risk of pain that is associated with loss.  But don’t you think love is worth that risk?  Yep, me too…and so does God.  After all, He sent His best when we were at our worst, just to demonstrate His love for us.  But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8.

Love Cross

Thought of the Day—Choose love…whatever decisions that need to be made or actions that need to be taken, choose the way of love…for love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous, nor does it brag, nor is love arrogant, it does not act unbecoming, love does not seek its’ own or is it easily provoked, love does not keep a record of wrongs, love does not rejoice in injustice but rather rejoices when truth triumphs. God IS Love…so this day, choose love…this day and every day…
