It’s not about me, it IS about you. So, are you ready for an adventure? Well, I would venture a guess you are already on one and don’t even know it. If you are still alive and breathing then you ARE on that adventure! Just peer in between the folds of life’s fabric, and you will find those special moments, treasures hidden amongst the magnificent and the mundane that make your life worthwhile. Those “special moments” is the reason this blog site was birthed. The title Life Simply Spoken came about from the yearning to share simple life stories presented in such a way that it would impact the life of another person. Most of these stories or “pieces” will have a spiritual slant as I strongly believe that in every life experience, there is a lesson, a nugget of God instilled, eternal truth just waiting to get out, becoming a salve for healing, a mini “aha” moment or perhaps a smile maker. So as you skim over my own life stories, think about yours. Jump headlong into YOUR life adventures with abandonment, keeping all your senses sharp, head clear, and make sure you pack a good amount of humor. For this is the only life we have been given; let us embrace every moment!

Thought of the Day–11/12/17

Confession

Thought of the Day—Do you want to know a secret?  There are no secrets with God; He knows everything we’ve done and said anyway…it’s just a matter of being real with Him and confessing what He already knows.  Don’t you think our human relationships would go a little smoother if we were more open and honest with others?  I’m not talking about brute force honesty but speaking out truth in love…

CORN

Thought of the Day—A person surely harvests what he or she plants…what seeds do you have either at the ready to plant or in life’s fields already?  Are they seeds of kindness or cruelty, of love or loathing, perhaps a burlap bag full of goodness instead of a threadbare sack of bitterness?  It’s up to you; just remember, in the mindset of farm to table, you could very well end up with a plateful of chaos to devour with a big slice of humble pie for dessert…

Hand to hold

Thought of the Day—It may take a village to raise a child, but that doesn’t give anyone the permission to abandon their children in the village square.  We need to once again cherish and treat our children as they really are; a precious gift from God, an eternal soul entrusted to our care, the next generation in a pint sized form.  They are not someone else’s responsibility, your best friend in training or constant irritant…they are a reminder from God to us that we too, still need to find the wonderment in the everyday, what it means to once again enjoy the essence of innocence in trusting others, to possess a colored blind heart… Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Matthew 19:14

CEMETERY

Thought of the Day—Isn’t it funny how, after losing a loved one, we sometimes feel guilty for moving on with our daily lives?  It’s almost as if we are afraid to move forward because we might forget or disrespect that loved one.  God didn’t intend for our life to stop the moment our loved ones’ did.  Sometimes, we need to just pause and remember that person with a smile or a tear and move forward, one step at a time, one day at a time…
