Thought of the Day–12/18/17

Christmas gifts

Thought of the Day—It’s a week before Christmas. Are you still trying to find that perfect gift that no one wants or are you making final preparations for the perfect gift your whole family wants AND needs; your presence?  I’m not talking about your physical body being present and accounted for as much as you, in the moment, getting involved; go to that Christmas Eve service, engage with your kids and others, play those table games, arrange dinner around your needs not vice versa.  It’s not too late to surprise your family this Christmas; make it count!

Christmas Cross

Thought of the Day—Jesus isn’t the reason for the season…we are…For if sin had not entered into this world and if we were not in such a desperate state of need, there would be no need for a Savior to save us from our sins…but here we are, with that very need.  So we, the receivers of God’s most perfect gift, celebrate the gift of Jesus this season and we worship God the Father for His perfect love for us!  John 3:16-17 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Snowman

12/11/17 Thought of the Day—Why do we strive to be like everyone else when God made each one us so individualized and special?  Isn’t it time we attempt to delve into just how special we are instead of trying to mimic Peggy Perfect or Mikey Macho?  After all, if God made each of our fingerprints unique, just think how remarkably different our personalities and character traits really are?

Candle in the Window

Thought of the Day—A candle in the window is meant to draw people home, towards the light that shines in the darkness.  We are to be that same light, in this world of darkness.  Never underestimate your ability to draw others into your warmth, for you are your Father’s child… Matthew 5:16 (NIV) In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
