Thought of the Day–3/7/18

Thought of the Day—Did you know there is a huge difference between the words childish and childlike?  Sure, all the characteristics of those two words are incorporated into the life and personality of a child but in an adult, the contrast is striking.  To be childish as an adult has everything to do with self and nothing to do with responsibility; it’s an “I want” mentality that has far reaching consequences.  To be childlike, however, is to embrace being an adult in addition to having a keen sense of wonderment of life and trust in others, of having an unwavering faith.  It sometimes comes down to loving life as opposed to just living life.  How about you? Are you walking around, disgruntled with life because it’s not going your way or are you caught up in the magic of ordinary days?

Thought of the Day–3/6/18

Thought of the Day—Do you want to have some fun today? Pick up a rock and throw it!  I don’t mean in a literal sense like at a passerby or your neighbor’s cat but into the placid pond of humanity called your circle of influence.  You know how, when a stone is tossed into a tranquil pond, the ripples start from the point of entry and keep edging outward?  That stone represents an act of kindness delivered to another; we never really know how much that one act has the same ripple effect to positively influence the lives of others.  That stone could represent the gift of time, a prayer lifted up, a card sent, a phone call made, picking up someone’s tab or simply giving a hug to someone you know is going through something difficult right now.  I think you get the idea.  And better yet, pick up a few pebbles at one time, toss them in and watch what happens…ripples in a pond…love in action…pick up a rock and toss it…today!

Thought of the Day–3/5/18

Thought of the Day—Virtually anything can be used for either good or evil.  A simple large stone, when used in conjunction with many others, can build a magnificent castle but it can also be used to crush a man’s skull.  An ordinary rifle can be used to hunt for much needed food but can also be used to end a person’s life.  And the internet can be used to retrieve huge amounts of useful information but can also be a tool through social media to degrade and bully others.  Even the tongue can build up or destroy another’s self-esteem.  We as humans have a great responsibility at our disposal; let’s strive to become great builders instead of negligent destroyers…

Thought of the Day–3/4/18

Thought of the Day—Did you know you are only as good as your word? So speak your words carefully with thought, truth, and wisdom; let your yes be yes and your no be no…no maybes or buts about it…and always speak the truth with love.  Sometimes easier said than done, huh?

Thought of the Day–3/2/18

Thought of the Day—One of God’s greatest gifts is to have a clarity of purpose, to run unhindered toward the goal God has instilled in your heart.  Unfortunately, we have a tendency to sabotage our own lives to the extent of filling our days with ambiguous nonsense that leaves us paralyzed and useless.  Here’s to getting back up and continuing the journey; forgive the friend or loved one, forgive yourself, ask for forgiveness, pray that God WILL give you enough strength for each day…and move on…

Thought of the Day–3/1/18

Thought of the Day—Like light shining through a crystal prism, dispersing a rainbow of colors throughout a room, so too are those who are obedient to God and offer hope and peace to this world…

Thought of the Day–2/28/18

Thought of the Day—This world would be a much better place if we simply talked a lot less and listened more— to our God with great anticipation, to our loved ones without judgment or condemnation and to our own selves with sincere honesty…
