Thought of the Day–1/10/18
Thought of the Day— One year ago today, I started doing a “Thought of the Day” for my sister Jennifer, who was coping with stage 4 Melanoma of the brain. As God directed my thoughts and after I scribed the thought in my Word document, I would call and leave the “Thought of the Day” on her answering machine every morning to provide some comfort, thoughts to consider or even perhaps a little chuckle for her day.
Beginning on May 23rd, which is Jennifer’s birthday, I started to also post the “Thought of the Day’ on Facebook and my blog site on WordPress, LifeSimplySpoken.com so these thoughts could be shared with others.
My sister passed on October 25th of 2017 and thus, I feel it is very fitting that I discontinue writing new “Thought of the Day” posts one year from when it all began. However, beginning today, I am going to begin sharing daily the “thoughts” that only Jennifer heard, through May 22nd. I hope that you, in the past months and in some small way, have found these words to be helpful. They were just small gifts, presented with love, from a brother to a sister…

Thought of the Day–1/7/18

Thought of the Day—“I sure would like another pay cut”, said no one…ever. Why do we short change ourselves when it comes to God’s resources? He will provide our needs if we would only ask Him…Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Thought of the Day–1/2/18

Thought of the Day—Remember Tomorrowland; that procrastinator’s paradise of distant time and place where we put all things off until? “I’ll do that tomorrow” or “we’ll deal with that next year…” Well, guess what; reality check…we’ve arrived!! May you allow God to gently guide you through this day, this moment; to ease you in to what you ultimately have to face and accomplish this week, this month, or this year…
Thought of the Day–1/1/18

Thought of the Day—Welcome to 2018–a New Year, a blank slate. As we go through this next year, many events that we experience will be as a result of someone else’s choices that affect you. Other occurrences will be from your own decisions, whether they be wise or foolish. Wouldn’t it be nice to allow God, in His infinite wisdom, to scribe out your life as He sees fits and just follow His plan? Here we are at day one; what will you write as you pick up the pen of your life? The myriad of list entries that seem so important or a simple “Thy will be done…”?
Thought of the Day–12/30/17

The only way you can be a true light in this world of darkness is if you allow yourself to be brave, vulnerable and visible. Isn’t it time you start using the tools God gave you to make a real positive difference in your own little world?
Thought of the Day–12/25/17

Thought of the Day—God’s love was shown and Hope was born for us on Christmas Day! May peace reign in your lives as you celebrate the Christ child this Christmas…happy birthday, Jesus!
Thought of the Day–12/24/17

Thought of the Day—As we enter the eve before Christmas, let us remember that it matters not what lies beneath the tree as much as what lies in our hearts. A heart full of thankfulness for our one perfect gift–Jesus, a heart full of love for our family and friends and a heart full of joy in anticipation of being with those you love…that is what the Spirit of Christmas is all about…
Thought of the Day–12/19/17

Thought of the Day—So an unkind word or action was shot your way and you suddenly find yourself, the recipient of a hairline fracture to the heart. Even though the storm clouds of resentment start rolling in, remember this. Bitterness, resentment and revenge won’t heal that heart of yours; only time and forgiveness. Forgiveness is the most powerful tool at your disposal to dispel those resentment clouds and is the only instrument of healing to benefit both the giver and receiver…
Thought of the Day–12/16/17

Thought of the Day—Jesus isn’t the reason for the season…we are…For if sin had not entered into this world and if we were not in such a desperate state of need, there would be no need for a Savior to save us from our sins…but here we are, with that very need. So we, the receivers of God’s most perfect gift, celebrate the gift of Jesus this season and we worship God the Father for His perfect love for us! John 3:16-17 (NIV) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
