Thought of the Day–4/21/18

Thought of the Day—It’s great to be on the mountain top and to look out at all the majestic views that lie before you.  But the better perspective is when you are in the valley, looking up.  From that vantage point, you can see both the grandiose size and beauty of the mountains as well as your goal, your journey ahead.  You feel so small and inadequate in your surroundings because in fact, you are.  And while it’s necessary to stop from time to time on your journey to rest and get refreshed, to adjust your course and continue on, if you look too often at where you’ve been, you will never reach your destination…so it is on the trail and in life…

Thought of the Day–4/20/18

Thought of the Day—When you get lost in the everyday humdrum of life and forget who you are or where you came from, family members will be more than happy to carefully share the most horrifying moments…I mean…every precious memory with you!

Thought of the Day–4/18/18

Thought of the Day—We use sunscreen to protect our skin from the sun.  We use sunglasses to protect our eyes from the same source.  We strap ourselves into our cars to protect against an impending accident and strap our children in devices for the same reason; even though it takes the owner’s manual to figure out how to get them back out again.  We buy guns and alarm systems to protect our homes and families from potential intruders.  But how do we guard our own hearts and minds from harm?  Simply put, we need to safeguard our minds against triggers that could cause us harm.  It could be something as simple as a television show, movies or perhaps the type of material you read.  It could also be the types of folks you hang around with.  We need to pray for discernment and wisdom concerning our journey and what we ingest from the world.  People can be just as toxic and dangerous as any poison or street drug.  They don’t necessarily have your best interest in mind and won’t stand beside you when you fall.  In fact, many times they will use their tongue as a sharp knife to slice away at your reputation and character.  Keep your eyes open and guard your heart!

Thought of the Day–4/15/18

Thought of the Day—How many times have you slid behind the wheel and expected to get to your destination…without turning over the ignition and putting the car in drive?  Sounds pretty silly, doesn’t it?  It’s the same way with being in God’s will; sometimes (many times) you have to step out in faith…it takes action on our part…and you won’t truly be where you need to be until you take that first…step…forward…

Thought of the Day–4/14/18

Thought of the Day—It is simply incomprehensible to think that One so holy could take the place of one so unworthy…call it love…call it grace…call Him Jesus…
